The Doctrine of Jesus

Good Friday is a day of tremendous religious significance for people who follow Christianity. It is commemorated to remember Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. One of the most significant religious occasions in India is considered to be this one. Even though it is known as Good Friday, the day is not happy. Consequently, it is advised against wishing people a “Happy Good Friday” on this day.

Good Friday is considered a day of mourning and penance:

On this day, according to the New Testament, the Romans crucified Jesus. Jesus was charged with blasphemy because he claimed to be the Son of God. Jesus’ claims angered the Jewish religious leaders, so they handed him over to the Romans. The Roman emperor Pontius Pilate commanded Jesus Christ’s execution. He was captured by Roman soldiers thanks to one of his followers, Judas, who was rewarded with 30 pieces of silver. He had told the Roman guards that he was kissing Jesus and asked them to arrest him. This event served as the motivation for Gustave Doré’s celebrated 1866 painting “The Judas Kiss. On the day of his crucifixion, Jesus carried the cross to the site of his execution, called Calvary in Latin. He was fastened to the cross he was carrying by his wrists and ankles. He died in this position after being nailed on the cross. Therefore, on this day, Christians remember Jesus’ sacrifices, including the way he was crucified, his suffering, the torments he endured, and the torturous end to his life. Easter Sunday is the day of celebration that follows Good Friday. This day honors Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, which, according to the New Testament, occurred on the third day following his burial. It’s also the reason no one is wishing you a “Happy Good Friday.”
